Collared Lizard Season

kungfuluke Apr 11, 2005 10:41 PM

I've only been out twice this season to my spots in Apple Valley, And I've seen 5 collards. I only go out for a couple of hours at a time. This season is the first time that I've actually kept some of my catches. I'm working on a desert collection of sorts. So far I have caught, this season, a speckled panamint rattle snake, two collared lizards, a massive 9" scaled lizard, a baby chuckwalla, and a desert rosy boa.

No, it's the baby chuckwalla, peeking his head out. I keep the chuck and the collared in the same cage though.

thats a cute little chuck, isnt it great that no matter how big he gets youl never have to worry about eating the collared lizard. thats one of the advantages of having a vegetarian lizard.btw whats a scaled lizard? is that a night lizard or a whiptail or something? maybe its an older term im not familiar with.
