How old are your Blacks and where are they from? CBB or WC?

zoolady Apr 12, 2005 04:35 PM

They are about 5 years old. They are CB. I got them from a breeder. The females should be gravid. why do you ask?

Your Blacks show so much pattern. They must not be from the East Coast.

Thanks for the photos.

Yeh, I noticed that. I was looking at others and noticed they were more black. And mine have this pattern. All 3 of them do. So is this, in your opinion, a good thing, or a bad thing? Which are better??? To most peope? My first ratsankes ever, So I dont know. lol

Personally, I like the pattern and hope mine retain it to a degree, but from what I gather, lots of people prefer pure back animals.

They are all God's creatures. How can it be a bad thing? I have seen lost of photos of Black rats on this forum, and the western Black Rats seem to show more pattern. There is no such thing as a bad Black Rat Snake. There are just unappreciative people who do not see the beauty in such things.

Thanks for the photos. Let me know when you get some eggs.

You can buy vermiculite from LLLReptile.com. They sell itin Gal. containers as bedding. http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog/reptile-cage-supplies/bedding/-/4-quart-vermiculite-bedding/ You might be able to find it at your local hardware or auto parts store. It is used to clean up spills.
