salamander escape help!!!

i had my salamander in his own 6 gallon tank and with a card boards shoe box top on it and he stilled escaped.do you guys have any good i deas of home made lids(cant find one at pet store0

hmm... a lid made of window screening and weighted down with books may work,

A piece of fabric and one of those really huge rubber bands.
