Luckily I was home from work yesterday and got to observe the entire laying from one of my females. This is the first time I have gotten to watch the ordeal from start to finish. I have always read how it takes a lot out of the female, but had no idea just how much. She layed 14 eggs in about six and one half hours. The poor girl was totally exausted when she finally got the last one out. I have a whole new appreciation for her now. Needless to say I was a total wreck the whole time.
