UroJade Apr 12, 2005 12:16 PM

which filter do i want for a 50-60 gallon tank with one turtle? i didnt relize how much the canister filters would cost but they seem to be teh best option
im hoping to find a less expensive one that can get the job done or maybe i can get a used one on ebay or something.
any recomendations? on the size/type/power/brand?

i think im getting the Odyssea CFS 4 its says its 350 gph and good for up to a 125 gallon tank

and for the turtle dock should i get the 7inch wind one or the 9 inch wide one? does she need the room to turn around? or does it not matter as long as she can get completely out of the water to bask?

It wouldn't hurt to have room to turn around. Since i'm from Canada and we don't have all the same equipment as you i don't know the filter you asked about but the capacity sounds fine. You always want as much filtration as you can afford. Matching filter capacity to your tank is fine, but it's always better to go one or two steps up.
I personally use Fluval, i don't know if you have that down there, but it's a really good filter.

Hi, I recently bought a Fluval 304, I have a 65 galllon tank. I love it! My water is crystal clear, and the upkeep and cleaning is so much easier. You can get one for about half price from a place online "thatfishplace.com". I paid like $84.00 and in the pet stores they go for about $139.00 for the same filter. It is so worth the small investment. Hope this helps. Laura
