Gravid Leo Won't eat. ;_;

Gabriev Apr 12, 2005 12:26 PM

Ack...does anyone know if Leo's stop eating right before they lay eggs? This is my first time breeding a leo, and she looks like she's about to pop and she's been digging in her laying box. She used to eat like a pig and now is refusing food, even waxworms. Nothing's changed about her cept her pregnancy. She's fat right now, but I don't want her using her fat stores to make the eggs. She does have a heater, humid hide, hide box, water, etc, so it's not the enviroment.

Any help will be nice. Thanks! ^-^

It's common for a girl to go off food completely a few days before laying. If you don't see eggs in the next couple days and she still refuses to eat, then I'd start to worry. As soon as she lays, be sure to give her lots of calcium and good things to eat to get her ready for the next clutch. Good luck with your eggs!
