Just to get your attention...I copied and pasted this from glades herps website from the inventory list....I thought you monitor guys might find this interesting. Does anyone have any idea what this might be? There is another one listed below it that is 8ft and $10,000!!! I was just curious...

these are varanus salvator... asian water monitors. some populations become black at the onset of adulthood. togianus, andamanensis, and komeini are the 3 recognized latin names for 3 different dark colored water monitor populations. these "black dragons" are malaysian in origin, v.s. komeini. marketing them as something new is a sales gimmick to sell them. in terms of behavior, or scalation, or any history has yet to prove these are anything but salvator. -john
