Vernal pools in CT - 04/12/05

canidman Apr 12, 2005 02:46 PM

Went out to some vernal pools today. Saw a lot of egg masses, either wood frog or spotted salamander. Here are a few shots of the habitat.

Egg masses are visible as white blobs. Probably spotted salamander (Ambystoma maculatum).

This egg mass was found in a puddle on the side of the trail. I'm not sure what species laid it.
