Husbandy/Handling courses??

goini04 Apr 12, 2005 09:54 PM

I was wondering if there was a listing of training courses for crocodilian captive management in the USA? Mr. Dupont has informed me of one that was available, that is taught by Dr. Adam Britton, however, it is hard to get into. I am hoping to find some form of week-long course or something, that I can use to get a little hands on training for some of my future plans. If anyone happens to know of one near you or know of any period, that would be great!! Thank you for your time.

Chris is referring to the AZA Professional Training Program Crocodilian Biology and Captive Management course. The course has multiple instructors, some of who travel to the class site (St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park in Florida)to teach in person.

Being that this one is hard to get into, I am hoping that there are one or two more available that aren't as hard to get into. I know that there are some, in which you have to have like a 1000 hrs of training, however, that long of a training course, unless it's right here in Ohio isn't exactly feasible for me right now.

Any other ideas would be awesome!!
