Dark phase Mexicana Mexicana male.

jlassiter Apr 12, 2005 10:20 PM

This one just shed so took a few shots of him. I will have to breed him next year to see if he can produce any offspring as nice as him. I like the light gray around the saddles and the dark red coloration of the saddles.....
Thanks for looking.

I got this female from John Cherry. She is from wild parents that were confiscated at the Texas/Mexico border. She should produce next year.

All great mex mex's John and I too am a real big fan of the tri-dot skull head pattern. When you look at it in person, the head pattern almost looks like a helmet. I also love to see that head pattern in other mexicana's like the thayeri.

Do you feel pictures really do these snakes justice?

It's not that the pictures are bad in any way or not accurately dislplaying the snake, but I know for me, personally, nothing is as impressive as seeing or holding a snake in person to see it's true beauty. Man, all of the snakes posted here in this forum must be very incredible in person.

Pictures of snakes usually do not do them justice, because their true color and iridesence does not show in a photograph, but a picture does capture detail as in pattern. And you can see every single scale.......A snake in a person rarely stays still but a picture stays still forever to look at in detail....
Thanks for the compliment....
