Does anyone know the scoop on these. My assumption would
be that they are better than the 5.0 but wanted to check.
Thanks

Yes I bought a few of those. Their claim is that the 10.0's use a glass in the tube that lets more UVB through. With my 18 inch lamp in my small viv I get double the UVB reading on my Solarmeter than I do wiuth the 5.0.
The problem is, the Solarmeters register UVB from 280 - 320. So a high reading is not necessarily better, since UVB from 310 - 320 breaks down vit D in the skin. According to the Jukka study anyway:

I asked ZooMed for a spectrograph of the 10's but they haven't responded in three days. My beliefs have changed regarding the readings on the Solarmeters. To me, the readings are ambiguous, since they would register an output mumber if a lamp were outputting solely in the 310 - 320 range.
I hope Zoomed gives me the specrrograph.
