Hi,

About five months ago, my children brought to me a small injured turtle. Apparently the birds had pecked away part of its shell near the back left leg. We kept it, because we couldn't see sending it back outside to die. She ended up getting shell rot in the affected area, but I read several web sites and have been treating her since. The area seems to be healing and trying to regenerate nicely. My question is... We believe her to be an alligator snapping turtle, from our picture could someone confirm or deny this for us? Also, she seems to be a very picky eater. We tried the pellets, those didn't work. I threw a chunk of chicken breast in there one day and she liked that alot. I fed her that for awhile, until it was crawfish season here. After that we started feeding her boiled crawfish. Well, crawfish season is over, and I tried going back to the chicken, and she will have none of it. We send our boys to the bayou for minnows occasionally. She likes those, but they're not as easy to come by. Is there anything else I can try to feed her that she might eat? And how often should I feed her?

Thank so much
Nyn
