Where can I find breeder recommendations?

DoubleS Apr 13, 2005 06:17 PM

Where can I go online to see a list of recommended breeders or...NOT recommended breeders. Is there such a thing someplace? Purchasing online makes me nervous w/out some reference and/or reassurance.

Thanks,
DoubleS

What you can do is decide what kind of tort that you want and then post asking if anyone can recommend where to get them or if you find one that you want just post and ask if anyone has dealt with them and what thier experience is. I have to say I buy a lot of reptiles online and everyone I have dealt with has been great I have had no problems. Actually I just purchase 3 leopard torts and I can't wait til they arrive.

Good Luck!

I'm 90% positive on a Redfoot. I've been talking to a breeder in Oklahoma.

Has anyone dealt with Crosstimbers Reptiles.com, Derek Johnson? Online, seems very nice and knowledgable. Been letting me ask my 100 questions to ensure I'm making the right decision. That means a lot to me.

I found him on the classifieds here. Does that mean they a A-OK?

I'm still waiting on a few more questions to be answered by him to make my Redfoot purchase 100%, plus looking for a reference.

I've personally never dealt with him, but red foots are good pets. I have 3 of them I bought them all local. But The fact that he is answering your questions is a good start. At least he wants to make sure your going to take proper care of the little Guy. If you have any questios feel free to cntact me I am always glad to help.

their site is at the link below. i found them to be friendly and helpful, always answering any questions i had even after i'd made my purchase. "junior" is an awesome pet!

a few folks who post here breed them as well; dunno who'd be selling anytime soon. *shrug*
