I have observed several times now my male RES go through the mating ritual with his 2 female pond companions. He does the claw shiver and clings to the back of her shell, but his "manhood" never reveals itself. Eventually, the female swims away and he loses his grip. What's the deal with all that? Could he not be sexually mature yet? He is about 5.25 inches at this point. Anything that can be done to give him a boost, short of ordering him some Enzyte? :->

He won't go all the way until the female presents herself to him for mating. Generally they will hug the bottom and allow the male to copulate. He doesn't need Cialis -- he needs to work on his pickup technique .
