A little more on albino breeding......

crazy4burm123 Apr 13, 2005 09:55 PM

Thanks guys for the info....I am only 17 now but in bout 3 years when i get my own apart. I plan to maybe start with a pair of hets....I figure I could get albinos and eventually end up with a pair and breed them to get ure albino clutch every year. WHat I was wondering is are they easy snakes to breed? Does everything usually go ok? ANother thing about selling the babies is that well I do not want to get into the breeding big time i just like snakes as pets. I have my baby now burm that I hope to have forever and then when i have my own place I was thing about the pair of balls and a conda. Ther thing is I do not want to have babies all year because they are hard to sell If you know what I mean. But thanks for all the help It's just a little future planning

ps: If i had just a pair of albinos would that bring in a good sum of extra money every year?

First off you need to understand it is not all about the money if that is why you are going to breed then you probably need to reevaluate. Making money off your investment is fine but you should do it for the love of the animals. You also have to understand that it cost money to PROPERLY care for the snakes and eggs. If you skimp on spending money on your snakes then your likely to see it in your clutches and the health of your snakes. To make money you've got to spend money.

My dad used to tell me that every time I took a 20 to the bar to shoot pool LOL. Never made much money, but it got me buzzed enough I didn't care. But you're right skimping with herps is the wrong thing to do.
