Why so long in between.....

My dumeril only defecates about once every 3 weeks. A large amount I guess. She eats every week usually 1 or 2 feeder mice. She is about 30" about 9 months old. Other than that she is pretty good, she eats great, sheds great, no mites, just a little nippy sometimes. She doesn't have bedding in her feces, and doesn't swallow any when I feed her so I don't think she is impacted or swallowing bedding. Is this normal for a dumeril? The only other snake I ever had was an amazon tree boa and it pooped a few days after I fed him and so did all the other boas and other snakes my friends had so I am just going off that.

Basically boils down to metabolic rates, and some other things, such as size of prey and ambient temps. can also play a role in the digestion rate. Take care

That delay is normal. In a way, it's something you can be thankful for. It's nice to be able to clean crap less frequently. My boids don't defecate as often (nor do they smell as much) as my colubrids.

Actually I'm surprised that she eats as frequently as she does. I have one approximately the same age and size but she eats only every two weeks. Since they are an opportunistic predator they tend to have a slower metabolic rate and don't defecate frequently. However if say, it holds off for along time like six weeks then you can get it to defecate by soaking the snake in warm water for 20-30 minutes.
