As I was walking through my hallway, past the reptile room...

I noticed a PRETTY Baja girl basking, and grabbed the camera, took the shot from across the room.

Shes getting close to laying time.

Has been documented in Crotaphytus. I have a friend that kept some prett good records of his hatch ratios and there was no correlation between temps and sex. I know I have seen Dr. Jones says otherwise on his website, but to my knowledge this is just speculation. It is however, well documented in Turtles, Geckos, and crocodilians.

You'd be interested to know that is works the opposite in some reptiles than others too. Lower temps does not always = higher female ratio. Interesting to note, unless they've re-evaluated the data, leopard geckos would produce mostly females at low temps, then males up to a certain temp...after that, they'd get more females again, but they called these "hot" females. They actually were more aggressive and larger. Most were so aggressive, they would not allow a male to mate with them. Sometimes I think my mother-in-law was in a hot hospital room.

You know...some people say "mature" and some say "matur." Ha, ha. I know I screwed up, but I said, "oh well."

I typically don't like to read them either, unless they have something to do with my current hobbies or has interesting photographs.

lol, it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaay off topic. it's how are the new economic reforms enacted during the special period affecting the ideals of the revolution in cuba. the closest tie it has to reptiles is that i thought of the topic while studying in cuba, where i saw some local frogs and lizards.
