Help . Beardie not acting himself.

Nastasio Apr 14, 2005 02:01 AM

My bearded dragon is about 8 months old. His diet consists of crickets, meal worms and vegetable salad. There is a standing water dish which is kept clean. He consumed about 25 crickets last week but since friday evening i havnt been able to get him to eat. His level of activity has gone from high to virtually non-existant. He just lays on the bottom of the terrarium and will not move. The few crickets i placed in there fri night have not been touched. When i handle him is the only time he moves, he seems sluggish, his hips are showing and he will not eat. There are no signs of distress on him. I have purchased baby food for him. I will attempt to force feed in the morning. I am very concerned and looking for insight.

i'd say get him to the vet asap. at the very least get a fecal done.

Soak him in water for about 10 minutes. I know he has a water dish in his cage, but take him out and place him in a shallow bin with water about up to his middle back, lower neck. Some where where he cannot get out, but can move around. He might have to poop and be a little backed up. Try this. I would definetley recommend a good fecal check though. This is always a good maintenance plan.

GOOD LUCK!!!
