Best indoor bedding for sulcatas

What do all of you think is the best substrate for sulcatas when they are indoors. My enclosure will be 10'Lx8'W. I have seen aspen, dirt, hay, straw ect.ect. in enclosures befor. I want whats best, Thanks for all the help, I can't wait to get him. Jason

I have 5 sulcatas they are great! I hope you enjoy yours. For the babies I use rabbit grain. On the bigger ones are on hay. From my experience I find that Sulcatas will eat anything. So their substrate should be 100% digestable where as aspen and bark sustrates can cause blockages. Plus hay is very good for them. I hope this helps you!

I use shredded coconut husk for my Russian tort. It comes in large bricks sold as potting soil and expands 4 to 5 times when you add water. It slowley breaks down to a grainular dirt a little larger than sand as he digs, and walks on it. When it gets that fine i replace it and save the old for starting seeds for my veggie garden, or spread it on my flower beds (nice brown color and fertilized by tort poop).
