Heres a pic of the cage, it has a 12inch deep plasic trough built
into the base, so as to allow plenty of dirt for substrate, this
allows them to dig, and allows some humidity.
The cage itself is made of mdf, and is 6 feet long by 3x3 feet.
It seems to work well for them.
I couldnt use a regular steel trough as they are non existent here in the UK.
Good luck
I am just adding a pic of one of my ackie cages. Hope you like the look!
To hogboy: Man, your cage looks great!
did you make the back round of the cage or did you buy it?
from Alex
Thanks
Heres the bare cage without dirt to show the trough.
The background on you cage is great, i would love that in mine
I am glad you like my background
I made it all by myself out of polystyrene and tile adhesive (i have also used gypsum with the same success on another cage that is in the whole made of polystyrene)
I have put an description on how to build that background online on my website www.acanthurus.org. It is in German so please feel free to ask or mail.
Greetings,
Timo
i can't understand german so could you email instructions on making the backround?
