Hatchling Question?

Tumtum03 Apr 14, 2005 04:42 PM

How hard should a baby's shell be? I found mine like a week ago and have him under a reptisun 5.0 buld and I know I have his diet right. I was just curious how long it takes for their shell to be hard? Its only about the size of a quarter maybe a little bigger! Any help would be great.

Well it usually takes a few months for there shells to totally recover from soft shell(if that is what your turtle has) It sounds like you have its setup right. I would also make sure its getting a good amount of calcium as well to aid with the hardening of its shell. Good luck.
