A couple of years back I obtained a trio of Waglers which turned out to be of the Penang "Blue" phase. This consisted of an adult female and two of her aqua colored netonates (sexed at 1.1). In the course of time, I sold the adult.
The young snakes totaly refused to eat and one netonate died. As they were too small and frail to mess with, I resigned myself to the fact, that it was likely the male that died.
Recently I was lucky to buy a beautiful high yellow female that was approx 16" in length, showing extremely nice adult colors. The good news is that she wolfs down rat pups.
The surviving netonate had in the meantime fed voluntarily, only sporatically. I took it out this evening to tease feed and then realised that it had grown to 13.5" and had not changed color, pattern, or gained any (Female) bulk. Closer examination showed the tail was proportionally longer than the new female's too.
Apparently, it was the male that survived.
