Sick Leo

fragilesoul Apr 14, 2005 08:29 PM

My female Leo has become ill.

She has been leaving yellow runny droppings, and has lost her appetite. Her tail is already showing signs of thinning.

Also, she tends to keep her eyes closed to squinted most of the time. When she opens them, its usually the left one first, followed after a while by the right. But she closes them after maybe 5 minutes of running around.

Im worried, any ideas what could be causing this?

well it might be a parasite or worms but go to the vet and have them decide what is wrong with her

I plan on it. I just hope my small town vet is experienced enough with geckos.

Call your vet an ask him if he is a qualified herp vet, if he is not have him refer you to one that is. Even though it may be a longer, and possible quite a bit longer, drive it will be worth it. A vet that doesn't have qualifications and experience with herps is going to be not much help to your leo because he probably will not know how to recognize the symptoms.
