Hi all,
I have pet insurance on my pets. I just added Stitch to it and I'll add Rana in a few months. My vet visits are only 25.00 for the dogs and 15 for the chams. It's not cheap, but like I said, my dogs seem to find more trouble than any other dogs I know. From getting sprayed by skunks, to pricked by porcipines, to bitting a tail pipe and breaking a tooth, to betting stung by a bee and have a severe allergic reaction, oh my dog pearl is allergic to cats, tree's, grass, pollen, dust and oh ya human dander. Her Skin and Allergy doctor bills can run up to 700.00 for one visit. We typically have to pay about 200.00. So in the long run it really saves us money. Oh ya and it covers routine visits. Here is the web site. www.petinsurance.com Its call Veterinary Pet Insurance. Ask your vet about it, my vet is the one who recommended it to us.

How much do you pay and who do you get it through? I checked into it for my cats many years ago, but it was not worth it, but now with Luna...hey, can you cover a tarantula? lol! jk '_

Hi there, I've had my plan for over 5 years and applied through my vet office. We pay 112.00 per month, put last year alone saved us over 1500.00. I heard that the rates have gone up, then I heard they were the same, so I'm not sure what kind of plans they offer now. It paid for 1/2 of all Chloe's bills when she went in for surgery. You have to look at the big picture when you look at the monthly cost, and with pearls meds ( she is on steriods, skin cremes, anti biotics and weekly shots) we would be spending 200-300 per month, but with the plan we only spend about 50. I covers yearly boosters and rabbi shots also.

thanks, you are lucky to have it! Unfortunately, I have two different vets (ectoherm and endotherm!) and haven't found one for the T's yet

Ya roughly, some months we don't need to get the steriods or the creams, but we still need to see the vet to get them. And with summer fast approaching we'll be into our spendy months soon. Pearl is a frisby dog and we can't keep her inside once she gets going, she's learned how to toss it in the air and catch it when no one wants to play with her. We have 3 different vets also, our regualar vet, pearls skin doctor and my exotic vet for my chams all of them have worked with our insurance. Like I always say there are two things you have to sacrafice for your pets and that's time and money!!
