Follicle re-absorption ?

medusah Apr 15, 2005 09:00 AM

How common is follicle re-absorption ? I clearly felt marble sized follicles in Dec/Jan and now nothing! I've been checking my two females daily and did not notice ovulation!

Could I just be getting impatient! getting too late or they re-absorpted?

I read somewhere that when follicles are present, they will ovulate! Can you guys please elaborate on follicle re-absorption?

Thanks

And good herping to all

Follicles can be reabsorbed. This will happen in a female who has not bred sometimes, or if the female is not quite big enough or in good enough condition to continue development. And sometimes it happens for no apparent reason.

If they were marble sized in december they should be huge now or ovulation should have already occured...are you sure you didn't miss it? What are your temps?

Good luck, Christy

These two females are 3 year old virgins, 1600 & 1800 gr respectively.

My DTH temps are 84 and heat tape is set at 94. I've been checking morning and night to make sure to catch the ovulation and haven't noticed anything.

I don't bother them much but did recently palpate for follicles and could not feel anything, I was told a hard lump should be evident at this stage, they are lumpy in the last 3/4 of body but no mass can be felt!

Thanks for the tips
