Breeding size of ATB's

flynn172 Jul 10, 2003 03:27 PM

What is the optimal size for breeding ATB's? I have a female that is large, both in length and girth, and I have no doubt that she is breedable (@ 5 feet in length). However, I have CB male that was born in 99. He is approximately 2/3 the length (@2.5-3 feet) of the female and is about as between a quarter and half dollar in diameter. Would he be a breedable size?

I would say your male is probaby breedable, or close to it. The father of my last clutch of amazons I believe is the same age as yours, and somewhere around 3 1/2 in lenth, about the same girth you described yours as. It couldn't hurt to try; it's only female snakes you need to worry about breeding to early because they must carry the babies. If the males up for it, more power to him!
