Yeah, beardies like to wave. I think it is their way of saying Hi, look at me! I am big and bad!

mine does that when I give him water, I drip it on his nose but if his foot happens to get wet, he does that...I don't think he likes wet feet...

Beardies usually wave to say Hi I'm a bearded dragon please don't hurt me. Its a submissive behavior. I've never seen my male wave but my female used to wave all the time before she became gravid. You might try giving your beardie a bath to see if it likes to swim since it likes to wave so much. Like I said my female was a big time waver and she loves to swim so there might be a connection there.

It's a submissive gesture. When a beardie does that he's generally stating, "Ok, ok, I'm not a threat, please move along...". Mine rarely does that, and he rarely flares his beard. Mine had adopted a more direct method of communication. Whenever I offer him food when he's not hungry or whenever he doesn't want to be bothered by my presence, he'll just turn around, pop his nose in the air, and face away from me so he doesn't have to look at me. He'll also put up a hand on occasion to, quite literally, "push" my hand away from him when he doesn't want something. We have NO IDEA where he got this, but to see him do it is amazing.

Actually, I'm glad he doesn't arm wave or flare up as much. I feel he's more comfortable with us than what others deal with. I'll try to get some pix of both these actions up here.
