Tail Troubles.

LateNight72 Apr 15, 2005 04:39 PM

Need some help here guys. I have an 11yr old Igg (Female). She recently hit her tail on something in the cage some how, (Not sure, was not home at the time). Needless to say, when I found out about the tail, it looked as if she hit it really hard on the bottom of the tail, and there were a few minor scrapes/cuts on the tail, now, her tail has shrivled and is going to fall off. I am unsure as to go have it removed, or allow it to naturally fall off. I hate to see it... But I don't know what to do. Any thoughts? Thanks.

She really needs to see a vet at this point. The vet will remove the dead part of the tail plus some healthy tissue so the tail has less of a chance to rot any further up into the body. If the gangrene travels into her body it can and will kill her.
