Leopard Frog Housing Questions

jdlyk Jul 10, 2003 03:44 PM

I have a few questions about the housing of leopard frogs. It would be a big help if you could answer them.
1.How big of a tank for two leopard frogs?
2.Do I have to have a half and half tank or could I have a large container of water?
Thanks!!!!!!!

For two I wouldn't go any smaller than a 29 gallon. (Leos can get kinda bit when full grown) And half land half water is the best set up because these guys do like to swim and spent a lot of time in the water. I wouldn't make the water any deeper than 2 or 3 inches though and have some large river rock on the bottom just for added safty so no one drowns.

How would you clean a half and half tank?

I had a plexi glass divider to keep the bed a beast out of the water and I used a shop vac to clean the water side. Just suck out the water, wipe it down, rince, suck out again then refil with new clean treated water. It was actually quite easy and never took me more than 10 mins.
