future of leo market

bpn Jul 10, 2003 03:47 PM

I keep hearing whispers of a leopard market crash but have been hearing the same thing for years. I am only now getting in as I am completely enthralled with the SHTCT and was never a fan of the other morphs (albinos, patternless etc).
All of you have been in leos longer than I and I was wondering what your thoughts are on the demand for the currently hot morphs (which are as far as I can tell SHTCT [bald or not], patternless albino, and tangerine albinos).
Is this years $350 bald SHTCT going to produce $75 offspring or would one expect a slower decline ($200-275 range)
I am just fishing here and honestly I like the looks of the animals so much I really dont care.

Thanks
Brice

Well, I think the market changes considerably year to year. A few years ago albinos were the RAGE and now they are looked at as one of the most basic of the morphs. Basically people will want the "trendy" leos. Right now the tang and carrottail morphs are on the hot list, but who knows??? Personally, I have always liked yellow or pale leos...I like the tangs too, but the albinos and bright normal specimens still hold top vote in my mind.
