earth snake?

derekb Apr 16, 2005 10:39 PM

Today. Working in my garden. I found what I think is an earth snake. Solid gray, small head and no patten underneath. I live south of Dallas. Very friendly snake. If I catch another do they make good snake pets. I have a corn right now. And he is great.

It could be. Earthsnakes are reasonably common in cities in eastern Texas. They have distinctively pointed little snouts. Here's a pic of one from College Station, TX.

You should also look at Flatheaded Snakes as they might occur in your area as well.
