I am interested in a male jackson and wanted to ask a few questions of other Jackson owners. I keep snakes but new to chamaleons and looking into Jacksons.
1)From what I understand they dont like each other and even a male and female shouldnt be kept together?
2) They need a night temp drop and do better with substantial drop, what is ideal day and night temp?
3) They do best in screen cages but need high humidity . Isnt that hard to do in screen cage?
I was planning on a standard 55 gallon tank for a jackson but after reading a bit think screen but taller cage is best not sure though.
I plan lots of thick potted plants .Going to use thick branches reaching high into the enclosure with UV basking light on top. Any input would be great.

welcome, this is my setup specks for my male jackson. a screencage (55 gallon glass aquarium a no, no) i use a repti-sun 5.0 for uv a 75 watt basking bulb i mist 3 times a day i use a cool mist humidifier that is on atimer that goes on every 3 hrs to keep the humidity up. he needs an ambient temp of 75-to77 and a asking spot of 85. he eats crickets, supers wax and mealworms (only as a snack) and am getting lodster roaches and silk worms.hope this helps good luck matt

try this site also i use an umbrella plant and line it with think foliage. also my cage is 3x2x2 matt

Thank you very much for the great info and the site. I am going there now. I gather your happy with your cage. Do you know the manufactuarer of it,brand name?
I ask because going to get that and I know they make several types but I know nothing about them and since going to buy over internet wanted good type. The pet stores around here dont carry those only tanks.
I was going to use my tank but wont now and a cage looks nice to.
