I am getting so sick of this pacman....please help me! (long)

It's not so much the type of frog he is, or anything he does, or his expenses, it's the emotional turmoil he puts me through. He has been "hibernatig" for a very long time (do they even hibernate?). Basically what I mean is he has been burrowed down in his Eco earth substrate (it's 2-4 inches in depth, it has hills and valleys) He is pretty old, but when I got him he was malnourished and was living with little to no food, he was cold, and the tank was unclean. I tend to enjoy the care of lizards, snakes and bugs more, but I felt obligated to try to nurse him back to health. He has eaten very well since I got him, except last winter when he stopped eating for a few weeks when it got cold. I expected the same this year, and he did in fact stop eating, but now he hasn't eaten anything for weeks (it's scary, it's been almost 4 months). There has been no significant weight loss, and he hasn't deficated lately either (well, he has nothing to eliminate, so it makes sense). What should I do? Try something other than crickets or kingworms? Raise the temp? New environment? Natural light? Please, lend me your advice.

If you want him to stay out and active all the time then set him up with less substrate, maybe a 1/4", just enough for him to slightly dig into. Otherwise he will burrow for months on end and only come out to eat then go back down.

What are your temperatures? Two hot, or two cold and he will burrow to stay neutral; or to hide if no other cover is available. Hibernation is not normal for pacmans although they can hole themselves up for long periods of time if conditions are not ideal. Also of importance is to weigh your frog. While no significant loss of weight may not look apparent, the scale may say somthing different.
