What is a carrot tail? I thought it was the orange tail, or is it the shape? I know a lot of bearded dragon morphs so now I'm trying to learn leopard geckos too.

It is the colour. A carrot tail should be bright orange. If you ask, some people can show you some magnificent carrot tails. All I have is a blizzard/lusustic with a tiny bit. Ask around, or do a google image search on 'carrot tail leopard gecko'.
These are two super hypo tangerine carrot tail baldies..... The corrot tail is the color in the tail..... These are hatchlings so the corrot tail has not yet filled in fully..... As they grow, the orange in the tail will increase and wind up covering some of the tail..... With these 2 I would say they should turn out to be atleast 50% carrot tail.... You can only see the tail of the second one in the pic....
I know you hear this all the time Gregg...but I am sooo in love with your tangs. And I'm horribly jealous at the same time!!!
Those are beautiful! What are baldies though? and SHTCT's? I think I've figured out tangs... Oh yeah and Bells. Thanks for the pictures!

Leopard geckos come from the wild with some orange in the tail. That doesn't make all leopard geckos with some orange coloring a carrottail. The carrottail trait was developed by Ray Hine. It is a particular genetic trait somewhat different than what occurs in normal leopard geckos. It's pretty simple to see the difference when compared and a true carrottail doesn't fade or turn yellow or brown with age.
