Went out to Borrego yesterday. We arrives @ around 6 pm. We started off the day very slow. first snake was a dor sanoran gopher snake. Next was a dor baby ruber. Next snake around 6:30 or so was a dor coachwhip. Than an adult dor ruber, than it all started to get interesting. We found a beautiful adult longose snake @ around 8:15-8:30 or so, who had a great temperment being held but just wasnt so cooperative when it came to photogaphy, lucky I had someone else w/ me HA Ha, thanks eimon. Anyway we than found an adult red who had just bairly been clipped and was regurging its meal, that made for some definatly interesting pics, I will be sure to post those soon! Next snake yet another adult red directly to the shoulder of the road next to yet another large dor red. This particular live red was beatiful and had a great temperment and made for wonderful pics. Next snake was a beautiful speckled rattlesnake who was actually very fiesty for a speck, but it was fairly warm. than a dor sidewinder. After that, it really slowed down. One more dor sonoran, a leaf nose and yes, last but not least yes, last snake of the night, a dor baby boa. This was such a pretty snake, almost a "hypo" vibe to it and it was most likely just hit by the car before us as it was most likely only dead between 5-15 min. Asides for the 5 or so banded geckos that is basically it. All in all I was very pleased as this was my first desert run this year. ROOTSROK
