O/T Lizard Found in Backyard

collaredkeeper Apr 17, 2005 06:18 PM

Since we are putting in our pool all of the rocks we dig up go into a pile behind our lot. This is a great lizard locale which surprised me how many migrated here; I saw nearly 12 in the Rock Piles. This is a residential lizard I see every once in a while. I do not know the name specifically, but am guessing a type of fence lizard. Its something you don't see everyday in Socal.

Very Colorful Male

Great to go camera herping for a change, Great Hobby. The Lizards love to dart in and out of the rocks. I kinda liked this Picture.

Hey man,

Nice Side-Blotched Lizards (Uta stanisburiana). Sometimes they make for great photo subjects, although they are extremely abundant over most of their range. It is cool to see lizards in your backyard though, I'm still waiting to see if my escaped Desert Iguana will turn up this spring. Talk to you soon,

-Phil
