My 2000 female mated for the first time the week February 14, she mated with my male Florida twice for several hours. She shed her skin the weekend of April 4. She has yet to lay any eggs. She ate one mouse after mating but has refused all food since. Due to the lack of weight loss I am sure she is gravid but she has not laid. I was sure by all I have read that she should have laid her eggs by now. Any words of wisdom would be appreciate.

From all I know of reptiles, they can and do mate before the eggs are ready for fertilization.

You should see her get very large if she is indeed gravid. I would keep an egg laying container in her enclosure. Check her after she sheds and you should be able to gently palpate eggs (if she is indeed gravid) about 10 or 12 days after her pre-lay shed.

Thanks! I found the eggs, she must have laid last night. She laid them between the mesh and plastic of her reptariam. She laid 12 eggs but I think some may be doomed. There are several that have "streaks" where the egg is not white, the eggs are almost see through at the streaks, you can see the gold red color of the inside of the eggs. I had a lay box in here enclosure but she did not use it. I hope the eggs are ok, I put them in the perlite as instructed in the FAQ sections of this site.
