Hi, I know nothing about gardner snakes but have a buddy that is looking for one,
Is this something that is bred and sold by listing on kingsnake classifieds ? how about any info as far as forums / care .
Do the gardner snakes go by a different name for a special classified listing ?
He was wanting something with blue in it. is this being bred as well ?

thanks for any reply.

Your friend is most likely looking for a Garter Snake, genus Thamnophis. Some people inadvertently refer to them as "gardner" snakes because they initially fail to properly hear or recall the word Garter, or they hear the word gardner from a novice. There are no snakes that are presently classified by the common name "gardner". It is also possible he is looking for any of several species that are commonly found in vacant lots and gardens in some places, such as the genus Storeria which includes Red-Bellied and Brown (Dekays) Snakes. Garter Snakes are usually easy to find in the classified forums.

What classifieds would garter fall under ?

They are found in "Other Snakes" under the classified forums. You can also go to any of the classified forums and type Garter into the search window. You almost always find someone selling Garters.
