He looks a lot better in this picture. What did the poop look like ? Was it a brownish solid or what?

Ball poop looks just like little puppy poop. Their "pee" has solid and liquid to it, that's what it sounds like your male passed. Good luck on the feeding. If I had that little one, I would give him somewhere very quiet and low-traffic to live, and mess with him as little as possible 'til he eats. Good luck.

That sounds more like a urate than a digsted matter poo. But that doesn't neccesarily mean that he's never eaten. I would bet that the distributer that sold them to your pet shop did not feed them before shipping. Check out the thread to your previous post for more insight into that theory.

So much better that I had to compare his markings in the first pic with this one to be sure you were not confused on which snake I thought looked so poorly! Thats him alright, and he does look much better in that pic. If that pic is a better representation of what the snake actually looks like I would go ahead and set him up in a nice quite place and offer him water and a rat pup or mouse hopper. If he takes it, great, keep up the good work. If he regurges even one of his meals take him to the vet, he is not big enough to deal with an infection for very long.

Good Luck!

BTW~ Pretty snakes!

Those pictures were taken within minutes of eachother...I guess the camera can be confusing at times.

Your credit card number is quite clear and posted on the internet now. Pull that picture from wherever you are hosting it so it can no longer be viewed, and cancel that card in a hurry. Make sure the card company know the number definatly got out to the public and you need it canceled IMEDIATELY.

That is not the same skinny and dehydrated looking snake that everyone was referring to. The snake everyone is referring to is the one at the top of the picture in your post below. You can clearly tell by the dot on this snake's neck and the lighter coloration that it is the healthier looking one at the bottom of the picture from you post below. Post a picture of your other Ball Python. That is the one everyone is referring to.

What concerns me is the fact you posted the pictures with the attitude that there was nothing wrong with them and you were giving them cute little names. I can't help but think you didn't do your research and you went out and bought two snakes and don't have all the information you need to care for them.

If you did do your research you probably wouldn't have the two housed in the same enclosure. If you did do your research you probably wouldn't have been so eager to post pictures of the snakes giving the impression that you thought everything was okay with them. And when everyone started pointing out that they looked unhealthy, you instantly began to put blame on the pet store.

I'm not trying to be judgemental here, but you can't be angry at the pet store because you willingly purchased unhealthy snakes from them. You can take your money anywhere you want. And it's not even one of those situation where you didn't know what you were buying. I can't imagine that the snakes looked all that much better before you brought them home.

By no means do I believe it is okay for pet stores to sell unhealthy animals who are living their last days before they are even brought home as somebody's pet. I guess what I am trying to say is this, "What is going to deter pet store owners from selling unhealthy, dying animals if uninformed individuals continue to walk into their store and buy them?"

I just looked again. These are not my snakes Don so I can't swear it, but I am very close to positive you are mistaken, and the snake photo'ed in this thread IS the skinny snake in the top of the picture in the post below.

Open two windows and compare them one to one. Remember you are looking mostly at the crest of the dorsal side, as the picture in this post is mostly of the snakes right profile and the one below is the snakes left profile.

So, look at the dorsal crest. Count the saddles. see how the first three saddles are close together, but the fourth is further away and longer? Compare that with the other pic. It's the same. See how saddle number 6 is just a circle? compare it on both pics. Count all the way down to saddle 14, see how it king of makes a squiggly line across the dorsal crest to connect with the alien on the other side? Same on saddle 14 of the other pic.

I'm pretty sure these are the same snake.

You really analized the snake well, very nice attention to detail!

babysdaddy85 Jul 10, 2003 10:12 PM

By the way, your right.... I also think that the second pic is the one at the top.

candie Jul 10, 2003 10:52 PM

Gee, compare the spots right at the end of their necks. His is on the right, her the left. So I guess I'm just seeing spots

candie Jul 10, 2003 10:47 PM

So you're saying the snakes are different?

K here's both of them again.....

babysdaddy85 Jul 10, 2003 10:18 PM

Whenever I buy from a pet store, I ALWAYS request that I see the snake eat first. They have no problem with this, and they tell you the day that they feed all the snakes, and you can come back and watch your snake feed.
