Jungle or Stripe?

Aeromeggy Apr 18, 2005 01:02 PM

This little one was sold to me as a jungle, but she seems to be more of a stripe. I would like to know cause there is a nice male stripe I will purchase if she is a stripe for future breeding. The only uncertaintly I have is her tail, though they are more like spot clusters, not bands.

Thats a stripe. even if the tail has spots, they still line up to a stripe.

That beast will make nice stripes if you can find another one to breed.

Unfortunately, to be either a an abberant form, (jungle or stripe) it has to have an abberant tail. That is, or was, banded before the weak bands started to fade. If you breed using this male, I'm sorry but you will probably not get any true jungle or stripes. In fact, judging by the degradation of the banding in the photo and a few years of specializing in abberant morphs that do hold most of their pattern, my guess is you won't end up with anything but a bunch of pastels.
If you're willing to blow a year of breeding, you don't have to take my word for it. Just trying to help.

So is it or isn't it? The tail is what confuses me too. I think I'll post on the morph section too to see if I get a few more replies.
