Aptors: Do you really find them attractive?

humpbacks1962 Apr 18, 2005 05:17 PM

I know they're selling fast and expen$ive. But, in all honesty, I do not think they are particularly attractive geckos! Spots give the animals individuality. That is also the reason why I do not like blizzards.

Do you find them desirable, or are you mostly driven by the frenzy of the new morph? Do you guys like APTORS? And if so, why?

I've never seen an adult A.P.T.O.R....what do they look like as adults? Does anyone own one?

Yes, I think the R.A.P.T.O.R.s look very nice. For one, they have 6 major Leopard Gecko accomplishments all in one animal. Carrot Head, Carrot Tail, Hypo Tangerine, Patternless, Tremper Albino, and Giant in that one animal. After over 25 years of breeding to get all these colors, we now have them together, to make a beautyful animal.

Sure spots make some animals special, but how is a blizzard any different. The lack of spots are just a great as having them to me.

How can you think this looks bad?

I admire your passion. I guess I do not like them young.
If they turn colors like the picture of the adult you posted, then they do become stunning animals.

They do end up having spots, just not black. I think those markings do make them stand out.

R.A.P.T.O.R...

Ruby Eyed. Albino. Patternless. Tremper Strain. ORange.

They are an orange version of the Albino Patternless that came out about 2 years ago. They also have Ruby Colored Eyes.

Thank you. They do look amazing when they are older.

Personally I like the coloring in the R.A.P.T.O.R's. I've never been overly impressed by the carrot head's carrot tail's or anything else with carrot in it until I saw those. I love the intense orange in them and I wouldn't mind having a R.A.P.T.O.R and a snow. Those are actually my two favorites. It takes a lot to impress me since I usually go for an animals personality and not what it looks like.

I have a snow. Would buy an APTOR but have an albino AFT on hold already.

I agree with you, I am not too impressed with orange and yellows. When I first saw the pictures of the APTOR it looked like a Cheeto to me. I guess hatchlings look very boring. Blizzards look like plucked, chicken thighs to me.

But if they do get a pattern afterwards, that makes them beautiful looking animals. They look like an artist mixed up oil paints and created them...

I have a female snow cross ablino on reserve at the moment and now that you mention it blizzards really do kind of looked like plucked chicken lol and the R.A.P.T.O.R's do kind of look like cheetos too lol. Thats actually pretty funny since I never thought of them that way. The first time I saw a pic of a R.A.P.T.O.R I thought that I needed sunglasses just to look at the pic since they're so brightly colored but they grew on me since I love bright orange.
