feeding wild caught kingsnake

nt217 Apr 18, 2005 05:36 PM

I have a wild caught kingsnake that has refused to eat a thawed fuzzie two times now. I've had it about a week and half. It did eat three days after it was caught but it has now been a week since then. i was thinking that it just may want a live mouse. Im not too worried about yet because i have a captive breed snake that used to eat only every 7th day. SO if anyone has any ideas id appericate them.

You can try a live mouse, if that don't work try a kangaroo mouse. You can also let it go where you found it if its away from people houses. It may be stressed out or wanting to breed for this time of year. Also it would be a little easier if you can tell us what type and size it is. I'll save the lecture i want to type lol , but i hope this helps and you can give some more info or a pic Paul

Another thing is that i think that it is a male. but i havent probed it yet. I had a friend look at it and he said that from the scales he thought that it was a male.

I figured it out. The snake was in shed. It shed last night and it eat this morning. So i feel like an idoit for not thinking about that.
