Anyone ever use/try Cocoa Mulch in thier cages???

sandro Apr 18, 2005 07:31 PM

I was wondering if anyone ever tried Cocoa Mulch in their snake cages. In southern Cal. I cant find cypress mulch, I was using some of this cocoa mulch in my yard and it seems as though it might work. The snake room would smell like a chocolate factory. Does anyone know if it would hurt the GTP's??
Thanks
Sandro

Cypress should be readily available at any home depot, or the like.

Are you referring to coconut husk? or cocoa bean (never heard of the second, just wondering lol.)

I use coconut husk chips and ground in my cage, looks and works great.

I don't know about reptiles but Cocoa is poisonous to other pets. Have you tried Home Depot for cypress? Ground up Coconut husk works well most reptile stores carry it in compressed bricks.
