Hey LeLe quick question since we are in this together

Does your bearded dragon freak out everytime you chance the paper towel on the bottom? My cham.. LOL whoops I mean bearded dragon won't touch fresh paper towel and hops on his basking rock or his branch I have setup for a few days before he ventures on the ground. He also doesn't eat very much and is ALOT less active. I think I should really consider sand substrate so crickets can't hide and I don't ahve to change the substrate as often I can just vaccum the poo out everyday. What do you think?

Have you tried non-adhesive shelf liner. It's easier to clean up you can just wipe up poop. You vaccuum up all the junk (cricket poop, crickets, salad bits). I only use paper towels for our Frilled Dragon. Once a week I scrub the liner with dis-infect.

Our girls love it, by the way and it's a lot harder for the crickets to get under the liner.

yah, i would definately go with trying a few different non-particle substrates before putting a baby on sand. You can also try indoor/outdoor carpeting but it is tricker to clean

Hey - been out of touch. As you know from cham forum Luna is not doing well and I have been distracted. But beardie boy is doing great.

I have a rather elaborate setup for a baby (I was warned about all the poop cleaning!) so when he poops on a branch or corkbark I take it out and clean it. When I change his toweling, every couple days (b/c he doesn't poop on it much, I take him out and put him in a temporary house. I change the pt and then put everything back the way it was and make sure his basking sites are warm again then put him right onto his rock or branch. He doesn't have a problem with it. Frankly, he spends little time on the ground except getting to his feeding dish or going to sleep.

Not sure if this helps you at all...:-/ As for sand, I would certainly heed what more experienced keepers recommend
