Haha! YES! That's completely normal. Leo babies have this life-preserving ability to let of a noise that sounds like a whistling tea kettle coming to boil. "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!" My new coleonyx mitratus "donation" is a baby and also did something equivalent to this when I first got him.

Some of my babies and young juveniles are quite skittish and tend to JUMP and bolt when they feel threatened. Its instinctive, as baby leopard geckos are easy prey. I tend to handle the more flighty ones less often so they don't get stressed. None of them are biters so that's a plus, but I handle them enough to socialize them but back off a bit more on the skittish ones until they get older and then they're much mellower. I simply make sure that they get used to having my had in the cage and know its not going to "attack" them. I also call them out of their hides by their names at feeding time so they associate me with "good stuff" like food.

Despite what non-reptile lovers might think, each Leo has its own unique personality. Good Luck!!
