reddish scales???

shhawke Apr 18, 2005 08:25 PM

one of mine are going through his color change and he started out yellow... he is now turning a nice color of green, but he has alot of red scales coming in too, and some of the tips of the scales that are turning green are red... its a really nice color of red..
i was wondering if this was normal... i know we dont have a red adult yet and i'm sure this will not be "the one" but i havent seen any others doing this... so whats the deal???

ideas? opinions?

I've seen quite a few yellow babys pop up with red scales late in their color changing process. I have never seen any retain them. Here is a photo of Damon's het alibno chondro going through it's "red mite phase" color change.

I've also seen many non het albino chondros go through something similar.

hey, you never know. Here are some chondros I can remember that retain some of their red baby patterns

Both these lines are nutorious for producing some very unique and one of a kind chondros. Any background on your kid?

Good luck and keep us posted.
