i just heard the loudest and weirdest vocalization from any of my geckos yet....only thing is i cant tell for sure who it came from. it came from the general direction of my henkeli, im willing to bet it was one of them or maybe even my corkbarks but WHOA...it was like a loud, raspy bird call...anyone else hear much from their leaftails? ive never heard anything yet from my henkeli, ive heard the female corkbarks do a little low-level chirping and whatnot, but this seriously made me jump out of my seat.

I heard the freakiest noise about a week ago,I introduced a female fimbriatus into my males tank.At about 3 in the morning that night my gf and I were both woke up by a strange squealing almost a sound u would expect aliens in a movie to make.I grabbed the flashlight and the male was trying to mount the female and she was making the noise, this went on for at least another hour. And it continued the following night but hasn't happened since.

Ive heard my female henk vocalize twice...First time my response was much like yours, i.e. it freaked me out of my shorts. I was strolling past the cage, it was dark, and I heard that "raspy bird call", it definitely got my attn. The second time I was taking her out of the shower and she voiced her displeasure when I went to grab her.

yea, the more i think about it...the male was really close to her, might have been in the mood to get some tonight, but shes already gravid with another clutch so i think it was her way of telling him to back off. i hope it doesnt happen in the middle of the night, i might crap myself.

Did you just hear it tonight? Well for the past two nights my female corkbark has been letting out a really loud hiss. It really freaked me out. I was just going to post it on the forum when I say your post. Anyway both times it happened in the middle of the night and I went over to see her hissing like crazy and running all over the cage like a madman or women for that matter. I did a good check of her and could find no obvious signs of injury or anything wrong with her. I have since moved her to another cage to keep a closer eye on her. I've heard mine make vocalizations before while breeding and defending territory but never like this. This was not a good sound.
