This is a nationwide amendment to the Lacey Act that would ban the interstate commerce of primates. The Act was last amended to ban the interstate commerce of big cats and now primates are being considered. There is little doubt that these amendments are being requested by the AR groups as a way to hinder the "exotic" pet trade and if this primate version suceeds (as the big cat one did), they will simply continue to request amendments for different animals (when the right time occurs, such as after a high profile "incident" making headlines) until ALL exotics are covered. Join this yahoo group set up to stop these amendments from progressing to herps.
