day55... To pip or not to pip???

jnsreptiles Apr 19, 2005 12:50 AM

Hello all. I have a slight dilema. Today is day 55 for clutch #1 this season. There was a total of 5 eggs. After candling, all eggs are fertile, and babies in each . But, at this time, only one egg has began to dimple. I felt the other eggs tonight, and they are still VERY firm. I went ahead and pipped the dimpled egg, and everything looks good inside. My question is, should I go ahead and pip the other eggs, or wait until they dimple, or just let them hatch on their own. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, the one I pipped, appears to have a complete stripe with VERY LITTLE pattern down its side. Keeping my fingers crossed on this one. Pics will be available if it comes out looking like I hope, lol. These are from a gravid wild caught I got this season. She layed eggs 5 days after I got her. Gotta love that

Thanks again for any advise.

Jason

You should have no problem slitting them (small 1" V on top
of each egg).
I look forward to seeing the pic...
Good luck.
