hook-n-loops for latching the lid, need to spray on the tomsons water sealer and do some interior decor... but the cage is 5' wide, 3' deep, a little more than 2' tall, used 1/2 pvc vynal wrapped wire and lots of staples and screws...... a 2-peice lid also. looks good! chucks are doing well, will x-fer over soon. cracked the bottom glass in my brand new 50 gallon, cost 100bucks.... chuck decor is heavy. good thing the cage is built, the crack is harmless to the chucks dont worry.... nick.

That too bad about the tank! I was really scared I was going to destroy my 100 when I was arranging all those rocks. You'll have to post a pic of the new cage when you get them all moved in

I have a friend in Chicago that was doing his 40 gallon breeder tank cleaning prior to waking all his collareds. He has that stacked outside upside down so they would all drain and dry over night. A storm kicked up and blew them all over and broke everyone. I think he had about 12 of them altogether. So...why do they call it the windy city?

Story two...pretty lame, but I was beating on the bottom of a small tank, trying to dislodge some sticking dirt...crash!!!

Just this year, I had a 10 gallon (I know a dime a dozen) sitting down in my basement. I was carrying 2X4's down strairs and dropped one...it hit the steps and took off like a rocket when it hit the floor and slammed into the side of the 10 gal tank. I've learned that letting lumber and pvc pipe slide down the steps might save me time, but not money.
